      What are the setup requirements for the Authenticator App (TOTP)?

      Follow these steps to enable the Authenticator App (TOTP) for secure login and transaction verification:

       

      Step 1: Go to Account Settings 

      1. Log in to your Wallex account. 
      2. Hover over your profile name at the top-right corner. 
      3. Click Settings. 
      4. Select Security. 

       

      Step 2: Start Enabling the Authenticator App 

      1. Under Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Authenticator App, click the toggle. 
      2. You will be asked to verify your identity using: 
        • SMS 
        • Email

       

      Step 3: Scan the QR Code 

      1. Open your preferred Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.). 
      2. Tap Add Account. 
      3. Scan the QR code displayed on the Wallex screen. 
      4. A 6-digit TOTP code will appear in your app. 

       

      Step 4: Enter the Verification Code 

      1. Enter the 6-digit TOTP code from your Authenticator app into Wallex.
      2. Click Confirm. 

       

      Step 5: Completion 

      Once the setup is successful: 

      • Authenticator App will be enabled. 
      • Login and transaction authentication will automatically start using TOTP. 

      Your account is now protected with a stronger verification method. 

       

      Do I need to enable the Authenticator App first? 

      Yes. Login and Transaction authentication using TOTP are not allowed while the Authenticator App (Primary) is OFF.

       

      Can I enable Login or Transaction Authenticator without enabling the Authenticator App? 

      No, this is not allowed.

       

      Note: The Authenticator App will go live in Malaysia on 18 December and will be subsequently rolled out progressively to other countries in phases.
